Study Spaces/Rooms

We have enclosed study rooms on every floor of Leonard H. Axe Library; however, most of them are located on the third floor and in the basement. 

We also have many open areas on the floors that are available for anyone to use.

Noise levels vary throughout the building and can also fluctuate depending on the time of day.

Generally, the first floor is our loudest floor with the most activity since both entrances, many offices and services, as well as the Axe Grind cafe are located on that floor. 

The second floor is the quietest floor and the most like a traditional library space. It has about half of our book collections with large wooden tables and chairs scattered throughout the shelving as well as study carrels around the perimeter of the floor.

While the third floor and the basement tend to be somewhere in the middle. Both third floor and basement have lounge spaces, large tables in central locations with booths or carrels located around the perimeter of the floor.

Axe does have several reservable study spaces, most are located in the basement and one is on the second floor.
