How do I create a citation?

Basic Info

Citations regardless of style will require you to have some basic information to create them, such as, the authors' names, the date of publication, the title of the work (if it's a journal article you will need both the article title as well as the title of the publication it appears in), the link to the article if you accessed it online, etc.

This information is used by other researchers interested in your topic to find the same sources you used and/or your professor to find the sources you used.

RefWorks

Library Services also gives access to RefWorks which is a helpful tool for both keeping track of your sources and generating your citations. You can find out more about RefWorks by viewing our Citing Sources page.

Citation Generators

Please, be cautious when using any citation generators, many of them get
elements of the citation wrong so you should always check what they have generated before submitting your work.
